VISA INFORMATION EMSHB

Many students and teachers who are citizens of countries outside North America, Japan, and the EU countries will need to apply for a visa to visit Switzerland.

PLEASE CHECK EARLIER RATHER THAN LATER TO SEE WHICH MEMBERS OF YOUR GROUP WILL REQUIRE A VISA. IT TAKES SEVERAL WEEKS, MINIMUM, TO OBTAIN ONE.

You will need a letter from the host school to support your visa application. Please send the following information to Bill Gilfry as early as possible so he can send the appropriate letter of invitation for your students.

E-mail address: BGilfry@zis.ch

Give him:

your school’s name and address.
your school’s telephone and fax numbers
the names, nationality and passport number of each of your students requiring a visa - it is important that this is exactly the name on the passport
the name of the teacher/chaperones traveling with the students
the date you expect to enter Switzerland and the date you expect to leave Switzerland
the fax number of the Swiss Embassy to which this letter must be sent directly

Bill will send you a fax of the letter as well as sending the letter directly to the Swiss Embassy where you are applying for the visa.

If you send all the requested information directly to Bill as early as possible, this will certainly help in getting the necessary visas for your group. - posted 21 July, 2008
