Important Reminder for all preparing auditions:
Students are each to announce " I am violin number 1" (or the appropriate instrument and audition number) at the beginning of their audition. They must never announce their school or their name. The number they say is the order in which their audition appears on the CD. It must also match the online form that was submitted. This helps us to be sure we are hearing the auditionee we think we are hearing. The second student on the CD would say "I am violin number 2" and so on. Remember, all violins go on one cd, all sopranos go on one cd, all clarinets go on one cd....
BE SURE TO READ ALL INFORMATION AND INSTRUCTIONS FROM THE REHEARSAL CD BEFORE YOU START TO RECORD WITH YOUR STUDENTS!
MIDDLE SCHOOL HONOR BAND AUDITIONS
All high school auditions are "blind" as is the Junior Orchestra which is for grades 6-9. MSHB is NOT a blind audition and the audition instructions should be followed, including having the student announce his or her name.

- School Codes For Auditions
All auditions for International Honor Band and Choir, Middle School Honor Band Asia, Middle School Honor Band Europe, Junior Honor Orchestra and Senior Honor Orchestra will be listened to “blind”, that is without the committee being aware of the school or the student auditioning. An anonymous system of identification is needed.
Please open the list of school codes and look up the code number given for your school. Use this number to clearly mark all auditions being submitted for festivals during the 2007-2008 school year. Please do NOT use the initials for your school on the audition discs, CDs, or cassettes.
If you do not find your school’s name on this list, email the Executive Consultant so a number can be assigned to your school. (updated 15 September,2007)
